Who Are You is a service operated by Stackwhere, Lda. (a company being incorporated under Portuguese law, headquartered in Porto, Portugal). Until incorporation is complete, the service is operated by its founder as a sole trader.

Waitlist (before the app launches)

We use this solely to notify you when Who Are You launches in your city.

When you use the app

• Location data — approximate GPS position, stored as a geohash (a reduced-precision grid reference). Your exact coordinates are never stored or shared.
• Profile information — name, age, photos, and any optional details you choose to add.
• Encounter data — anonymised records of proximity events (when you and another user were in the same area).
• Messages — sent between matched users, stored encrypted.
• Device information — platform (iOS/Android), app version, and anonymous crash reports.

We do not sell your data. Ever.

We use the following sub-processors:

• Supabase, Inc. — database and authentication (servers in EU region). Privacy policy
• Vercel, Inc. — web hosting for getwhoareyou.app. Privacy policy
• Apple / Google — in-app purchase validation (receipt verification only; no personal data beyond what you provide to those platforms).

• Waitlist: until you unsubscribe or 12 months after launch, whichever comes first.
• Account data: for the duration of your account, plus 30 days after deletion.
• Location data: rolling 24-hour window — older location records are automatically deleted.
• Messages: until you or your match deletes the conversation.

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Rectification — correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting previous processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@stackwhere.com. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados), Portugal's data protection authority.

Who Are You is strictly intended for users aged 18 and over.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. During account registration, users must confirm they are 18 or older. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will immediately delete their data and suspend the account.

If you believe a minor is using the service, please report it immediately at privacy@stackwhere.com or use the in-app report function. We take this seriously and will act within 24 hours.

Who Are You provides tools to keep the community safe:

• Report a user — available from any encounter card or chat. You can report for: harassment, inappropriate content, fake profile, spam, suspected minor, or other reasons.
• Block a user — immediately removes them from your encounters, matches, and chat. They will not be able to see you or interact with you.

Reports are reviewed by our team. Users with 3 or more open reports are automatically hidden from the platform pending review. We reserve the right to permanently suspend accounts that violate our Terms of Service.
